FMD vaccine quality control testing under NADCP (Funded by DAHD)

National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) is a flagship scheme launched by Hon'ble Prime Minister in September, 2019 for control of Foot and Mouth Disease and other important animal diseases. FMD control is envisaged by vaccinating 100% cattle, buffalo, sheep, goats and pig eligible population in the entire country following a planned schedule. Under this programme, for the quality control testing of FMD vaccine to be used for the vaccination, our institute has joined hands with ICAR-IVRI and CCS National Institute of Animal Health, Baghpat. Under QC testing of FMD vaccine batches the safety, sterility, purity and potency tests are being conducted as per the standard operative procedure laid down by DAHD. Results thereof are being communicated to DAHD, thereby aiding to take critical decision for vaccine procurement and field use.
